SUMMARY

Blackrock Strategy welcomes mission-focused, talented military personnel to gain experience and hone professional skills while enabling the DoD to accelerate fielding of emerging technological solutions to Joint problems. Interns will assist in the design of technology assessments, gathering and analyzing data, managing knowledge, and making strategic technology investment recommendations to senior Defense leadership.

Remote-capable with preference for: Indianapolis, IN; Huntsville, AL; the National Capital Region

SkillBridge Overview:

Blackrock Strategy develops specific SkillBridge internship programs on an individual basis balancing intern expertise and preferences, company capabilities, and client interests. The program may be tailored to provide specialized experience in preparation for roles on Blackrock Strategy’s Assessment, Engineering, Technical Writing/Knowledge Management, or other teams. Success as an intern will hinge on individual ability to wield and grow the following skills:

  • Communications – effective verbal, non-verbal, and written communication (especially technical writing) using a broad array of methods tailored to the audience; appropriately representing the company and customer.

  • Conceptual Capacity – ability to think concretely and abstractly about complex problems and situations to connect environment, intent, and action.

  • Problem Solving – seeing and analyzing problems to create or find suitable, sustainable, complete solutions aligned with company and customer priorities.

  • Perspective-Taking – ability to see and consider multiple perspectives at once.

  • Temperament – awareness of one’s own perspectives; rational empathy.

  • Adaptability – reacting to and anticipating changes; comfort with ambiguity.

Because of the custom nature of the Blackrock Strategy SkillBridge Internship experience, the opportunity is not pre-approved by the Department of Defense (DoD). Our company will work with prospective interns to assemble documents for review and approval by the relevant installation offices. Approval and support for participation in a SkillBridge internship must be given by appropriate levels of a prospect’s chain of command, according to DoD and/or military service policies. Any potential for an offer of employment by Blackrock Strategy following completion of the internship is contingent on performance, budget, and client needs.

Compensation:

The DoD SkillBridge Internship program prohibits compensation of interns. Should the internship result in an offer of post-military employment, Blackrock Strategy offers highly competitive pay and benefits based on market, experience, and skills.
